The level of concern and compassion for our situation, and help with symptoms, side-effects, clinical trial questions, and access to much-required support services, was appreciated beyond what I am able to express. I also want to take this opportunity to thank our Blueguide physician for everything that she has done and followed-up with — for being right there at several moments where we were struggling with receiving proper information and making important timely decisions. While dealing with our cancer care system, I found it very cumbersome to get additional tests, second opinions and to know all the management options available. Information that I desired about the scope of genetic and biomarker testing (BRCA 1/2 and PD-L1 respectively, for example), I was finally able to receive through Blueguide.
Even though chances were slim that further testing would provide additional systemic treatment options in our advanced state, I was still grateful to have the doors open to pursue.
Again, I appreciate Blueguide and strongly encourage other cancer patients and their families to reach out as early in their course of disease as possible - I would have, I just didn’t know they existed."
